Newsletter swaps are a great idea, but they're a pain to set up. You have to scout around Facebook groups for likely candidates, post your own call-out and hope for the best, or comb through StoryOrigin's huge list and fend off ill-suited swappers.

What if you could find books to promote to your readers that you were confident were good books and on-genre? What if you didn't have to swap one-for-one?

As an indie author trying to promote my books, I designed the system that I want to use.

Enter SWAP UP, the group for newsletter promotion. Here's how it works:

• Upon joining, every member will receive a social rep score calculated from the ratings of their top-star book, and receive a number of tokens dependent on that score.
• Members can then join the FB group, where other members will post their deals and new releases. If a member wants to promote one of the posted books, they will comment on it. They will receive a tracking link, which they will share with their contacts.
• The member will then receive their SHARE REP, which will give them tokens corresponding to their number of shares. They can use tokens to post their own books for promotion. The more links click a member gets, the more tokens they receive.

This is very much a beta idea! There are no costs associated with this. I will undertake to organize and moderate the process. If the group is successful, I may look into automating it further or expanding it to other genres, or possibly monetizing it. For now, let's swap!
